Liberty Hill Publishing presents a political exploration of recent presidential oppositions—a must read for all political and philosophical interested readers.
, /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ — Author Edwin R. Micewski provides a comprehensive framework of meaning that restrengthens the metaphysical and spiritual dimensions of human consciousness in NON-TRUTH, MORAL NIHILISM, and JACOBIN CYNICISM: Western Civilization’s Descent as Reflected in the Tenures of the 44th and 45th US Presidents, and the Arrival of the 46th ($17.99, paperback, 9781662841590; $32.99, dust jacket, 9781662841606; $8.99, e-book, 9781662841613).
Micewski’s book addresses social and cultural issues, as well as foreign affairs and national security challenges that arose during the tenures of former president’s Obama and Trump, who he explains were diametrically opposed in character, ideology and statecraft. Micewski’s thought-provoking critique offers his view on the parameters of a political and moral theory for today and reveals what he describes as “calamitous results the lack of philosophical wisdom in the polity generates on both national and international levels.” Describing the moral collapse of a political system and the decline of a nation, Micewski demands a reconfiguration of reason and morality for the world of politics, media, and education. Mindful of the anarchic agitation of extreme leftism and modern-day Jacobins in society and state, Micewski believes that a resurgence of thoughtful conservatism is necessary for the survival of this nation.
“Following post-Cold War domestic and international politics in the U.S. and Europe, I observed the missed chances of the transatlantic community to establish reasonable policies for an improved global order,” said Micewski. “As a political philosopher, national security expert, military officer, scholar and writer, I felt compelled to speak up as I not only saw world peace in danger but, moreover, was concerned about the cultural decline of western civilization in its entirety. Recognizing the underpinning problem of philosophical ignorance and the absence of comprehensive literacy, the tenures of two U.S. presidents gave me ample opportunity to criticize the political blunders committed by neoliberal and neoconservative administrations and address social, political and cultural, and, above all, educational matters essential to civilized coexistence.”
Edwin R. Micewski is a former Brigadier General of the Austrian Armed Forces with a doctorate in philosophy from the University of Vienna. He specializes in political and social philosophy, particularly concerned with moral questions regarding the issue of ethics in politics, the use of force, as well as military leadership and soldierly professionalism. He was the director of a humanities and social sciences institute and has written and taught issues of national security, military ethics and civil-military relations in German and English on both sides of the Atlantic. He spent the last ten years primarily in the United States, where he continued to write and comment as a freelance philosopher and political blogger. Aside from his intellectual interests, he enjoys classical music, piano playing, equestrian sports, tennis and walking his dog Winston together with his wife Laura. As far as circumstances allow, he splits his time between Frederick, Maryland, and Vienna, Austria.
