Shirley A. Herman, of Washington, formerly of McMurray, passed away peacefully Tuesday, January 25, 2022, surrounded by her family. Born June 26, 1929, in Pittsburgh, she was the youngest daughter of Frederick and Ada Bischoff Arnold.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 68 years, Donald E. Herman Sr; her son, Donald E. Herman Jr.; and her sisters, Ruth Dowling-Everett and Betty Ehmer.
Shirley is survived by her sons, Ronald (Paula) of Lone Pine, Thomas (Jacqueline) of Nottingham, Robert (Anne) of Cranberry Township, and Lisa (Mrs. Donald Jr.) of Friendsville, Md. In addition to her children, she is survived by 12 beloved grandchildren, Tina Allen, Jason (Jenny) Herman, Christopher (Chelsea) Herman, Annie (Matthew) Barclay, Jonathan (Nicole) Herman, Robert (Rebecca) Herman, Lauren Herman, Ryan Herman, Aaron (Cassandra) Herman, Adam Herman, Catherine Herman and Sean Herman. She was also the proud great-grandmother of Mikayla and Devon Allen, Andrew, Connor, Wyatt, Madison and Hailey Herman, and Michael and Grant Barclay; and recently became a great-great-grandmother to Brensin. She is also survived by six nieces and nephews.
Shirley was an avid golfer, a superb cook and most importantly the heart of our family. She is best remembered for her warm and generous heart; she was always the first person to offer love and support to family, friends and anyone in need.

Friends will be received from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday, January 28, at 2828 Washington Road, McMurray, where a funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, January 29. Interment at Forest Lawn Garden.
